Nadiya’s British Food Adventure

Nadiya’s British Food Adventure

Very interesting introduction about Naiya’s background and her love for food. Although I only received a sample copy, the recipes I saw looked wonderful and I cannot wait to try them out. I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes. Very interested in reading the full book and all her other recipes.

Five stars, can’t wait to get cooking.

I got this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. When I first started reading this book I was unsure as to whether I was going to like it or not however, I found myself unable to put it down, desperate to turn the oafe and find out what happens next. The book switches between the present day and 1986, now normally I find this to be off putting but this book was written so well that the two timelines interlinked so well and joined perfectly that it just added to the suspece and hunger for more that as a reader you are always hoping for in a great book.

I found the plot to be really good and easy to follow. I really enjoyed the story. I found myself completly engrossed in the story which unfortunatly got me into trouble with the wife as I was not listening and was too caught up in the book.

I enjoyed the development of the characters and seeing how different they had become as adults from when they were children. We’d all like to think we stay the same but we do change and it is not always for the best as shown in the book.

So I would like to give this book four out of five stars. I would deffinatly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read and I would certainly read it again in the future.

I got this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, to tell the truth this is another book I was unable to finish as it just didn’t interest me. I found it a very slow starter and it didn’t captivate me and give me that feeling where I need to keep reading, where you stay up all night telling yourself just one more chapter and before you know it, its 4am and you’ve finished the book. This is what i’m looking for in a great book and I find I am really struggling to find this at the moment.

For these reasons I have chosen to give this book a single star out of five stars. I would not recommend it, and I would not reread or infact finish this book to be honest.

I got this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I must admit I didn’t finish this book as I couldn’t get on with it. I found the plot didn’t grab my attention and didn’t keep me captivated and wanting to read on. I found myself reading the same paragraph over and over again because it wasn’t keeping my attention and wasn’t interesting me. It didn’t keep me hooked like a great read should.

For these reasons I have chosen to give this book a single star out of five stars. I would not recommend it and I would not read it again.

The Innocent Wife by Amy Lloyd

Twenty years ago Dennis Danson was sent to prison and given the death pentalty, for the murder of a young girl in Floridas Red River County. Determined to proove his innocence, Danson took part in a documentary based around his trial and the case that got him sentanced. Now twenty years later a second documentary is being filmed, focusing on the flaws in the original case and aiming to get Danson released from Prison.

Samantha is a teacher living in the UK. She spends her spare time reading through and commenting on all the forums about Danson. Soon Samantha is writing to Danson in prison and he is writing back. After weeks of letters back and forth Samantha decides it is time to meet in person, she books a flight and flys over to American to meet Danson in prison.

Is Danson really innocent? Is Samantha putting herself in danger by going over to meet Danson or will there be a happily ever after?

I got this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I found the writing style of this book to be a little off putting at times, with extracts from the book written about Danson being used and the breakdown of snippets of interviews thrown in occationally. I found this took away from the story at times. I found this to be an unusual writing style which I am not a fan off.

I did enjoy the story although I found the ending a little dissapointing. I found Samantha to be a bit off an odd character, I can’t personally understand women who write to and fall in love with serial killers in prison but I think this book goes a long way to help to give you an insight into why women do this and how things can end up.

I found the plot a little hard to follow at times mainly due to the writing style. I did however, enjoy the overall storyline. For these reasons I have chosen to give this book three out of five stars. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy this type of writing style. I wouldn’t personally read it again though.

Then suddenly Veronica meets a women called Scarlett. Soon Veronica is going out again, laughing and smiling once again. Things seem to be getting back to how they once were. But is all as it seems? With this happy go lucky Veronica comes drinking, drugs and violence. Also something strange is happening. Grace’s name appearing in the shower, gifts showing up, flowers. Is somone playing games or is Veronica lossing her mind?

I got this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is the first time I have heard of Dawn Goodwin and I must admit afer this book, I have added her name on my list of authors to keep an eye out for. I really did enjoy this book, I found the plot easy to follow and it kept me hooked right from the start. Whilst reading this book I had two theories as to what was going on and i’m glad to say I was correc this however, did not spoil the story for me as it can sometimes do.

I found I really liked the character of Veronica and really hoped she would be okay, and realise what was happening. I found myself really rooting for her.

I found Tom to be an annoying character although I don’t know if this was just because of a personal dislike for the name Tom or because he seemed to have no idea what was going on with his wife.

I hated Falicity from the moment she came into the book and I must say I am glad she got her comupance in the end.

I have chosen to give this book five out of five stars and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for their seriously good next read. Very much deserves five stars. Another book added to my favorites category.

Bricked In by Max Wannow

Bricked In by Max Wannow

Title: Bricked In

Author: Max Wannow

First Published: October 2017

Publishers: CreateSpace Independant Publishing Platform

Pages: 254

Price on Amazon: Paperback: £8.17 Kindle: £3.02

ISBN: 197823633

I was contacted by the author of this book Max Wannow and asked if i could read this book and give an honest review. So here it goes. As always my reviews are my personal opinion which I have a right to voice and I do not write what people tell me to write, I only write honest reviews.

Bricked in follows the life of a former gypsy women who wins the lottery. Deciding to create a distopian kingdom in which she is the queen and her daughter is the princess, this kingdom does not follow normal rules or social norms. With people joining the kindom and it expanding what will happen?

First of all I want to say I found this book ver hard going. Personally I think it is not for me. I found the plot to be a bit all over the place in parts and for the first time in a long time I found I did not like any of the characters in the story.

This book is written in a very unusal and different way compared to other distopian novels and touches on taboo subjects which some readers may find difficult to read. So i’m not going to say don’t read this book, I am simply saying it is not for me as I personally didn’t enjoy it and wouldn’t read it again.

I have chosen to give this book a single star out of five stars.
